01 — Context
Wood as a noble material
BDM designs and crafts bespoke solid-wood furniture — tables, bookcases, fittings for restaurants and offices — where every wood species, from smoked oak to bark-edge timber, is chosen and worked with the same rigour. A noble material, shaped with near-centuries-old craftsmanship, that the website needed to make you want to touch it before even seeing it in person.
02 — Objectives
Conveying the quality and the craftsman's touch
The challenge wasn't to sell furniture online, but to convey a feeling: the grain of the wood, the care given to each piece, the discreet elegance that sets a handmade creation apart from a mass-produced one. The site needed to showcase the craftsmanship — the choice of wood species, the making process, the story of the workshop — without ever turning into a cold brochure, while staying restrained enough to let the wood speak for itself.
03 — Our solution
A restrained staging, in service of the material
We designed a clean site with large full-page photography and fine typography, where every table, every wood species and every project — restaurants, offices, bespoke furniture — is presented as a piece in its own right rather than a mere product. A collection filterable by wood species highlights the diversity of the timber worked, while the Making and Our story pages tell the craftsmanship behind each creation, on a fully responsive site.
04 — Results
A site worthy of the craftsmanship
BDM now has a showcase faithful to the quality and elegance of its work: a warm, clean visual universe that puts wood and craftsmanship front and centre, with clear navigation between collection, wood species and craft, to convince a demanding clientele of both private individuals and professionals.
